Song of Jim Crow

Negro Spiritual Style

There was once a Jim Crow. He was an evil thing. He took away blacks freedom. So we didn't have a thing. We got the worn down cafes. And the dirty water fountains. This was called a Jim Crow.

Jim would sing and dance like things were alright when he was really crying deep inside. What a fool dnacer. Every black was crying. Some were even dying. What a fool dancer. What a fool dancer.

We were being lynched and hanged and mobbed like it was hunting season. What a fool dancer. Some whites would try to help us. But would some listen? No they didn't. What a fool dancer. What a fool dancer.

His name was Homer Plessy. His great-grandmother was african. He had white skin. But according to them racists he was black cause he had african blood. His friends were mad and wanted to help. So they made him sit on a train. As he got ready to endure the pain. Then some passengers found out that he was black. OoOoO! He was sentenced to a cage. OoOoO He told his attorneys that the law was unfair. Judge Ferguson said no its fair air air air airrrr. We blacks went wild! We went to the high Supreme Court. J marshall disagreed. He said that we were right. He was free! We should all remember his words. They speak truth! he was free. mmmmmhmmmmmmhmmm. He was free. Free...
